Lawrence Mitchell has been restoring furniture for over 20 years. With experience of restoring, conserving and making furniture in various parts of the world.

 

He grew up in the family antiques business based in Oxford where he received a vaste amout of practical and theoretical training which supplied him with a broad range of restoration techniques and a deep knowledge of antiques ranging from the timber selection for carcass contruction through to the different finishes used. He aquired further specialist training such as chair caning, french polishing and wood turning/carving after leaving the family business.

 

He spent 6 years working in Perth, Australia. Where he initiated a successful restoration business serving the upper end of the antique market and restoring for the trade, for other antique restorers, local governments and embassies.

 

Returning to the UK in 2011 he has quickly established a flourishing antique dealing and restoration business and he now restors for private clients, collectors and select members of the antiques trade.
