A rare and beautiful French first empire Egyptian revival Napoleon 1st armchair has been conserved/restored and fully reupholstered in oatmeal cotton linen with coloured gimping to the trim, this fabric sets off the deep colour of the mahogany frame. The front of the arms have superbly detailed carved Egyptian heads which continue down the tapered legs to the feet which originally would have had ormaloo mounts in the form of a pair of human feet at the base of each leg. The chair has had many old repairs that can be seen but are strong and part of it's history.
Measures approx. 56cm deep by 92cm high by 55cm wide and the seat is 39cm high.
