This is a charming collection of 10 gold mining assaying crucibles with one of them having Battersea Works, England 3 impressed in the base. These are round, hemispherical, unglazed stoneware crucibles with a flat bases and flatish rims. Stained various colours on the insides from use. Some of these have residue spill on the rim and down the sides.

Used in the gold assaying process. Recovered from an old dump being excavated/cleared in Wales near old gold mine sites.

They are generally in good condition but do have various chips around some of the rims. Sold as a collection.
